You should check out this blog: http://sawyourbike.wordpress.com/. It’s almost like what I try to do, except for the only camera I own is a camera phone…
Funny 21.July.2008

Shiny(ish) New Bicycle. 21.July.2008
I bought a new bike yesterday. The first ride was amazing. The bike and all of it’s components are whisper quiet which made for a nice comfortable ride. It’s a geared bike so I got home faster than I can with Shenanigans. Also, it’s about 20 lbs. (with slight, very slight exaggeration) lighter than Shenanigans so that helped with the speed of getting home, as well as the speed of getting inside my house. I still love Shenanigans to death but, this bike is the key I need to really train and get into an even better bicycling shape. Also, now I can go on the really, really long rides I’ve been wanting to go on all summer. I’ll put pictures up on flickr eventually but for now, I’m too busy riding the bike!
Update:
I’m glad I got this bike because commuting to and from work is a lot easier and faster! It’s a comfort bike so it’s made to commute. All I need now is a bike rack and a pair or panniers.
News Worth Reading. 21.July.2008

It’s nice to see how people are actually starting to care…
Also, why it’s good that I’m blind in the dark and always use a bicycle light.:

I love how police brutality is accepted because it’s always the cops word against the offender. Don’t you love today’s society?
Random Blabbering 21.July.2008
So far this summer I’m sticking with my training. I decided to ride this one route each day, for the whole summer. This is so I can get back into the biking shape I was in last summer and lost over winter because my bike broke and I couldn’t get it fixed until the end of the year. Boy, that was brutal. Anyway, I found this pretty cool site named Bikely (www.bikely.com) that allows you to map out any and all routes taken on bicycles. It was pretty cool because I actually found someone who mapped out the bike paths of my town (something I’ve been looking for for months!). So after mapping out my route, I found that I actually ride a little over a mile every day. That is a great warm up work out, I think at least, for a fatty like myself. Anyway, just thought I’d share my find.
Happy riding.
More Randomness 21.July.2008
I found the perfect theme song/something that captures riding my bicycle:
I love Queen so it only fits. If you’re wondering why I didn’t pick “Bicycle Racer” as the song, it’s because it only partly explains the greatness of a bicycle haha I don’t know what I’m saying either!!
By the way, I have a flicker page now of the pictures I take while biking around. If you want to check it out, look over at the ‘links’ section!
**UPDATE**2:57 a.m.**
There is this organization that I saw before but, I never really took the time to read about them. After finally doing so, I learned that the organization H.E.L.L (Helping Everyone Live Longer) is an AMAZING organization that you NEED to check out! Their link is in the link section.
Weather Rant 21.July.2008
Since the seasons seem to have been shifted (cough cough because of global warming cough cough), this month has been full of what I now call “just kidding weather”. As I speak, it is sunny with few clouds in the sky yet, it is sprinkling rain. Walking to my friends house (which is about 5 minutes from mine) it was pretty rainny. Half way there however, the clouds broke free and the sun came out. I’m mad though because I decided to not take my bike in the rain, so I left it at home. Now, it’s perfect riding weather.
I hate Pennsylvanian weather.
And I miss my bike

“If You Road A Bike, You’d Be Home By Now.” 21.July.2008
“In a city made for cars, why are bicycles getting places faster?”
By now, I’m sure everyone has heard of the Bicycle Protest in LA. I happened to find some videos of interest:
Video One:
Video Two:
Don’t forget to go to their official site for more information on them. I think this is a pretty interesting move and I’m kind of looking forward to seeing protests like this sprout up all over.
Happy Travels.
Bicycle Resources 21.July.2008
Normally I feel stupid making multiple postings in a day but, it doesn’t really matter with this blog.
Anyway, if you love the bicycling community, you should buy, read, and/or download Urban Velo (www.urbanvelo.org). It is a wonderful collaboration of bicyclists from all over the WORLD. So fill out the prompt questions and send it in to their headquarters. I will and I can’t wait to read what you have to share! Urban Velo also is a great place for bicycle resources. There, you can look at their archive of people who make bicycle clothing, messenger bags, anything bicycle related. So yeah, check them out. You won’t be let down.
Another site I came across is Rock The Bike (www.rockthebike.com). This site allows you to purchase their patenent bike light which is great for people who would like to customize their bike, as well as people who just want added safety. This company also has fun bike audio that you should check out for those long bike rides. You know, since wearing headphones while riding is illegal…ha.
Well, that’s good for now. Those are just basic sites that expand out to a vast array of other resources. Have fun exploring!
I’m going out for a ride.
